As a Design System Designer at North, you’ll play a key role in building, evolving, and maintaining scalable design systems. You’ll work closely with designers, product managers, and developers to ensure consistency, efficiency, and high-quality user experiences. We’re looking for someone who cares deeply about structure, scalability, and craft, and who enjoys creating the foundations that enable teams to design better and faster.
Lead the creation, documentation, and evolution of design systems.
Define and maintain UI components, patterns, and guidelines to ensure consistency and scalability.
Collaborate closely with developers to ensure seamless implementation of the design system.
Audit and improve existing design systems, identifying gaps and opportunities.
Advocate for design system adoption and best practices.
Create and maintain libraries in Figma, ensuring they are structured, usable, and up to date.
Balance system thinking with product needs, enabling flexibility without compromising consistency.
3+ years of experience in digital product design, with a strong focus on design systems.
Proven experience creating or maintaining design systems in real-world products.
Deep understanding of UI design, components, tokens, and scalable systems.
Strong proficiency in Figma (libraries, variables, auto layout, etc.).
Experience collaborating with developers and understanding of front-end constraints (HTML/CSS basics is a plus).
Strong attention to detail and obsession with consistency and quality.
Clear communication skills (Spanish) and ability to document and explain system decisions.
A structured, systems-thinking mindset combined with a pragmatic approach.
Ideally, you are based in Madrid or in a location with easy and fast access to the city, as occasional in-person collaboration may be required.
